Prof Seungkwan (SK) Hong is a professor in the School of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at Korea University. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Civil engineering from UCLA, and served as a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Central Florida, USA (1997~2003). His primary research involves the development of membrane technology for water/wastewater treatment and seawater desalination. He has (co)authored over 150 international journal publications (h-index: 44 (Google), 40 (Scopus)). He is currently a director of research project (Korean governmental research fund: 25 million USD) which aims to develop low energy seawater desalination technologies. Prof Hong is a chair of IWA Korean National Committee and a vice president of Korean Society of Environmental Engineers. He also serves as an Associate Editor of the Desalination and Water Treatment, and a member of Editorial Board of Journal Desalination.
